Marquetry Studio
A photo becomes a marquetry picture you can actually cut.
Pieces you can actually cut
Import a photo or drawing and the color map breaks it into real veneer pieces, not a pile of tiny posterized blobs. Set the piece count, smallest piece size and width, and merge similar areas so every piece can be cut and glued.
Graphic or photo mode
Use graphic mode for logos and line art and photo mode for portraits and landscapes. You can weight key areas like faces and eyes so the detail goes where people look.
Clean, editable vectors
The traced pieces come out as clean vectors you can still change. Move points, switch between corners and smooth curves, draw new lines and weld loose ends without leaving the studio.
Real veneer, real stock
Choose veneers from the library or from your own stock, then place and rotate each piece on the sheet to get the grain where you want it.
Shading without a torch
Add sand shading for edges and highlights, or depth shading for light and shadow. You see the shading on the picture before you commit.
Nested to your laser bed
The studio lays every piece out on veneer leaves sized to your laser bed, with edge trim, spacing and grain direction handled. It warns you about any piece that won't fit or sits too close to the next one.
It remembers what you've cut
Mark a leaf as cut, and the used areas turn gray. The next layout works around them, so the rest of that leaf goes into the next job instead of the scrap bin.
Cut files, your way
Set your kerf, then export SVG, DXF or both, one leaf at a time or the whole job at once.
